The Student Blog is where chapter members write about the science and policy behind our work — how spirometry screening actually works, what the evidence says about flavored nicotine products, what a week of in-house research turns up. No prior publishing experience required, just something worth saying.

What makes this different from a typical club blog: it doesn't end at the blog. We're building toward something no one else has done yet — a pulmonology journal written and run entirely by undergraduates, compiled from the strongest work our chapters publish here.

From Post to Journal

Where a piece of writing actually goes.

01

You write it

Pitch a topic in pulmonary science, tobacco and nicotine policy, or your own experience with our advocacy and screening work — then write it.

02

Fellow researchers review it

Chapter members with in-house research experience help sharpen the argument and check the science, the same way any editorial process would.

03

It's published on the blog

Your piece goes live under your byline, read by every chapter and anyone who visits the site.

04

The strongest work is compiled into the journal

Selected posts are developed further and compiled into our upcoming journal — the first undergraduate-led publication dedicated entirely to pulmonology.

First Issue in Progress

Our first posts are being written now.

Get in early: the first pieces set the tone for everything that follows, and the first journal issue will draw directly from them.
