Wet Lab Collaborations
Some questions our screening data raises can only be answered at the bench. We partner with university wet labs to take them there.
Our chapters sit inside universities with active pulmonary, respiratory, and toxicology research labs — and wet lab collaborations are how we connect our field data to bench science. A pattern our screening or advocacy teams notice in the community can become a question a partner lab is equipped to test directly.
We're committed to connecting labs with dedicated undergraduate researchers of all skill and interest levels — whether you've never touched a pipette or you're already deep into bench work, there's a way in.
What we bring to a collaboration
De-identified, community-level screening trends to help motivate a research question · student researchers from our chapters, ready to work in a lab environment · a direct line back to the communities affected by whatever the lab is studying.
What we look for in a lab partner
A faculty-led lab studying respiratory physiology, environmental toxicology, or related pulmonary science, willing to mentor undergraduate researchers from one of our chapters. If that's your lab, we'd like to hear from you.
Cedars-Sinai
Through our collaboration with Cedars-Sinai, a small number of dedicated students are selected to work directly in a Cedars-Sinai wet lab — real bench time alongside practicing researchers, not just a name on a poster.
